PURCHASING MANAGER

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for daily activities of the purchasing function at NEMS. They are responsible for maintaining relationships with vendors or suppliers and upkeep trends and prices to identify forecasting demands to minimize purchasing cost.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Able to perform job duties of Purchasing Agent II.Review purchase orders for accuracy and to make the best prices are obtainedApprove purchase and track their progress to make sure orders are filled correctlyEvaluate, select, and establish relationships with vendorsNegotiate contracts for good and servicesOversee the ordering of materials, supplies and equipment from vendors by buyersAnalyze and implement purchasing process and delivery systemsManage and direct employees involved in purchasingMonitors day-to-day activities in addition to assigning work to employeesTrack and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectivenessSupervise all audit activities and evaluate purchase orders and paymentsManage and support project implementationsManage supplier contractsMaintains all reports for inventoryPerforms other job duties as required by manager/supervisor.Completion of a four year degree from an accredited university.1+ years of supervisor experience or 4+ years of purchasing experience.Must be proficient in computers and ability to learn new applications.Excellent communication, organizational and budgeting skills.Demonstrated skills in problem identification, analysis and resolution.Detail oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timelines.LANGUAGE:Must be able to read, write and speak English fluentlyThe ability to speak a second language is an assetSTATUS:This is an FLSA exempt position.This is not an OSHA high-risk position.This is a Full Time position.NEMS BENEFITS: Competitive benefits, including free medical, dental and vision insurance for employee, spouse and/or children; and company contribution to 401(k).
