We believe in achieving a high level of performance and value finding the perfect candidate to join our team.We are seeking an experienced purchaser to join our team, to help improve the accuracy and timeliness of the success of each of our projects.Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and servicesMaintain and review computerized or manual records of purchased items, cost, deliveries, product performance, and inventories (items in our warehouse (returns from sites/release waiting for install))Maintain and expand list of vendor and subcontractor contacts and relations to source materials and equipment.Negotiate or renegotiate with suppliers, vendors, and other representativesMonitor changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions, price trends, or future marketsResearch and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.Confer with staff, users, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective actionReview projects with the project team to establish scope of work for pricingPre-Order materials as appropriate prior to starting the job and working with project team to coordinate deliveriesCoordinate with the project team on long lead item deliveriesMonitor shipments to ensure that goods come in on time, and in the event of issues, trace and follow-upAttend job start up and regular WIP meetingsReview job cost summaries with the PM monthly and at the end of the projectWorks closely with accounting - authorizing payments and managing purchasing expenses with meticulous record-keepingQualifications:Minimum of 2 years of construction purchasing experienceKnowledge of basic electrical materialAbility to read specifications for each project and order accordinglyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient Microsoft Excel skills, excellent in other Office applications and the ability to become proficient in any systems used at Penco ElectricDetail oriented and organizedMust provide valid (non-expired) identification for legal employment in the U.SMust have own means of transportationPenco Electric is an Equal Employment Opportunity company.
