About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to oversee purchasing activities and ensure materials, supplies, and services are obtained efficiently and cost-effectively. This individual will work closely with internal departments and external vendors while playing a key role in maintaining inventory levels, negotiating pricing, and supporting daily operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Source, procure, and track materials, supplies, equipment, and services
• Obtain quotes, compare pricing, and negotiate with vendors to secure the best value
• Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
• Maintain vendor relationships and evaluate supplier performance
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment as needed
• Research alternative products and suppliers to improve cost savings and efficiency
• Resolve purchasing, delivery, or invoicing discrepancies
• Maintain purchasing records and ensure compliance with company procedures

Qualifications

• 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, buyer, inventory, or supply chain experience
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Experience creating purchase orders and managing vendor communications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
• Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines

Preferred Experience

• Manufacturing, distribution, construction, utilities, public works, or maintenance purchasing experience
• Inventory management and supply planning experience
• Experience working with multiple vendors and sourcing a wide range of products and services
