Pump TechnicianDeLand FL - DeLand, FL 32724OverviewPosition Type Full Time Education Level High School Category ManufacturingDescriptionPump TechnicianWe are seeking a skilled and mechanically inclined Pump Technician to join our team. This hands-on role involves the assembly, repair, and servicing of pumps and related systems, as well as general shop support. Occasional travel to customer sites within the U.S. may be required.We are looking for experienced technicians, but we are also willing to train motivated apprentices who have a strong mechanical aptitude and a desire to learn.

Experience in HVAC, electrical work, or swimming pool maintenance and repair is highly valued and encouraged to apply.ResponsibilitiesPerform various assembly, repair, and rebuilding processes using hand toolsDisassemble, reassemble, service, and repair pumpsRepair, replace, and upgrade electrical connections and wiringCut, drill, and tap a variety of materialsFabricate various pump accessories and componentsOperate a forklift safelyTravel occasionally to customer facilities for installation and troubleshootingAssist with shipping, receiving, and general shop maintenanceMaintain a clean and organized work areaAssist with inventory managementFollow and promote safety procedures at all timesBenefits & CompensationFull-time positionMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance begin on the first day of workPTO begins accruing on the first day of work401(k) eligibility begins approximately 60 days after your start dateQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (vocational/technical training is a plus)Experienced pump, mechanical, or electrical technicians are strongly encouraged to applyWe are also willing to train apprentices with a strong mechanical aptitudeHVAC apprentice experience is welcomeElectrician apprentice experience is welcomeSwimming pool maintenance and pool equipment technician experience is welcomeMinimum of 2 years of mechanical or electrical assembly/repair experience preferred, but equivalent hands-on experience will be consideredStrong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learnAbility to work independently and as part of a teamMust be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.Forklift experience preferredExperience with pool pumps and sprinkler pump systems preferredWillingness to travel occasionally within the U.S.Work EnvironmentMust be comfortable working in a physically demanding environmentProper safety gear and hydration support are providedSligo Systems, a Weaver Companies entity, is a full-service systems integrator providing engineering services and fabrication of custom industrial automation and process systems for a wide range of applications in Municipal Solid Waste, Oil & Gas, and Water & Wastewater markets.
