Pump MechanicThis role focuses on assembling diesel-powered wastewater pump systems and related components in a manufacturing and shop environment. You will use your mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading skills, and personal hand tools to build, install, and troubleshoot heavy equipment and large pump assemblies. The position offers opportunities for both entry-level candidates with trade school training and experienced mechanics with extensive diesel or heavy equipment backgrounds.ResponsibilitiesAssemble wastewater pumps and diesel-powered pump systems according to specifications and work instructions.Install engines, piping, and mechanical assemblies following blueprints, diagrams, and work orders.Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and diagrams to perform accurate mechanical builds.Use hand tools and power tools to fit, assemble, and adjust mechanical components and subassemblies.Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments during and after assembly to ensure proper operation.Apply mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, heavy equipment, and pump systems to support assembly and repair activities.Assist with wiring and basic electrical connections related to pump assemblies as required.Perform mechanical maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and assemblies as needed.Work safely in a manufacturing and shop environment, following all safety procedures and using appropriate tools and equipment.Lift, move, and position components and assemblies, and stand for extended periods while completing assembly tasks.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in heavy equipment repair, equipment assembly, diesel repair, or large pump assembly and repairs.Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and manufacturing diagrams.Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in mechanical assembly and maintenance.Proficiency in using personal hand tools and shop equipment for fitting, assembling, and adjusting components.Understanding of diesel engines, diesel-powered systems, or heavy equipment, including installation, troubleshooting, and mechanical assembly.Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments during mechanical assembly.Capability to stand, lift, and work safely in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.Attention to detail and accuracy when assembling and installing mechanical and diesel components.Additional Skills & QualificationsEntry-level candidates may qualify with relevant trade school training in mechanics, diesel technology, or a related field.Experience as a mechanic, diesel mechanic, engine assembler, engine repair technician, heavy equipment repair technician, or industrial assembler.Experience with wastewater pump systems or related industrial equipment.Familiarity with wiring and basic electrical work related to mechanical assemblies.Experience working with non-climate-controlled warehouse or outdoor shop environments.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret work orders and technical instructions.Why Work Here?You will join a hands-on, mechanically focused environment where your technical skills and craftsmanship are valued.
