Pulmonology - Critical Care Physician

UCHealth has inpatient Pulmonary Critical Care locums work beginning January 2027 at Medical Center of the Rockies, Poudre Valley Hospital, and Greeley Hospital. Physicians should provide specific availability for January April 2027.

Schedule

• 12-hour shifts: 7a 7p or 7p 7a

• MCR: In-house day and night coverage

• PVH and GH: In-house daytime coverage with offsite overnight call

• Weekends included

• Maximum 7 consecutive days

• One hospital per 12-hour shift, with rotation between locations

• Individual monthly commitment discussed based on availability

Practice Details

• Inpatient Pulmonary Critical Care

• Level I, II, and III trauma hospitals

• Medical and surgical ICU management

• Invasive and noninvasive ventilation

• Bronchoscopy, BAL, and therapeutic foreign-body extraction

• Chest tubes, central and arterial lines, and thoracentesis

• Epic EMR

• Other pulmonologists onsite at MCR and PVH

• No other pulmonologist onsite at GH

• Site-specific census, APP support, and overnight call activity to be confirmed

Requirements

• Board Certified in Pulmonology and Critical Care

• Level I trauma experience within the last 24 months

• Active CO license or active IMLC with LOQ in hand

• CO license application at acceptance for IMLC physicians

• Required procedural competency

• Clean malpractice and background

• ACLS, BLS, and DEA for credentialing

• Current-month self-query NPDB at presentation

• Specific January April availability and monthly shift commitment

• Mandatory Epic training before starting; no test-out

• Credentialing takes days; no temporary privileges

Compensation

• Regular and in-house overnight: $335/hr

• Offsite night beeper: $900/night, including 2 gratis hours

• Callback: $350/hr after 2 gratis hours

• Holiday hourly and callback: $515/hr; callback follows 2 gratis hours

• Holiday night beeper: $1200/night, including 2 gratis hours

Travel

• Local/drive-in physicians highly preferred

• Economy airfare reimbursement capped at $750 round trip

• Lodging capped at $150/night before taxes and fees

• Economy rental-car reimbursement

• Mileage at IRS standard rate

• Travel exceptions must be disclosed with presentation
