Chicago Treasurer's Office Unpaid Volunteer Student Intern Job Description
The Student Intern Program is for students seeking knowledge of and valuable work experience in public sector/city government operations. The intern should therefore be structured to support both communications production and event operation. Work hours are flexible to meet the needs of students and city departments. These are temporary positions. Internships are limited to one academic year. Students are limited to working one internship (lasting no more than one academic year) per City Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Assigned duties specific to the operational needs of the operating department where the internship is performed
- Performs various administrative functions to support program activities
- Compiles, tabulates, and analyzes statistical data, and researches and collects information for inclusion in studies and reports
- Communication and content support
- Digital channels and website support
- Event preparation and on-site support
- Project and administrative support
- Conduct comprehensive research on policy issues, legislative initiatives, and intergovernmental dynamics affecting our organization.
Performs related duties as required

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - Education, Training, and Experience
- Must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or law school, OR a student currently enrolled in an accredited business or data processing/ information technology school
