Tenure Track Faculty – Mood and Anxiety Program

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health is seeking faculty members (open rank) to join our Mood and Anxiety Program and help advance our research mission. Successful candidates will have a strong record of external research funding or, for more junior applicants, a high potential for securing external funding. Candidates are expected to have expertise in developing, leading, or substantially contributing to clinical, education, and research programs.

Responsibilities

• Advance an externally funded program of research.
• Publish research in high‑quality peer‑reviewed scientific journals.
• Mentor trainees across levels of academic development.
• Participate in division, department, college, and university committees and initiatives.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (M.D., Ph.D.) with specialization in Psychiatry or Clinical Psychology from an accredited program.
• Accredited training pathways in alignment with suitability for licensure and clinical practice in the State of Ohio.
• Experience or strong potential in external research funding.
• Expertise in randomized clinical trial designs, neuromodulation, interventional psychiatry, or personalized treatment approaches is especially encouraged.
• Clinical licensure (Ph.D. or M.D.) is expected if consistent with your degree; however, substantial research programs and funding can also be considered for Ph.D. candidates without clinical training if they are actively interested in training clinical professionals and supporting clinical care.

Program Overview

The Mood and Anxiety Program is embedded in a multidisciplinary environment, enabling research opportunities to be incorporated within clinical service delivery models. Rank and track (clinical, research, tenure) are open. Faculty will join a multi‑disciplinary team of clinicians and scientists in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health and will be located within the Mood and Anxiety Program.

Faculty Defined (Summary)

• Clinical Faculty – Assistant/Associate/Professor‑clinical titles, eligible for up to five‑year terms, focus on clinical care, teaching, and/or research.
• Tenure‑Track Faculty – Assistant/Associate/Professor titles, eligible for tenure, focus on research, service, and teaching, with possible clinical involvement for MD or MD/PhD holders.
• Research Faculty – Research Assistant/Associate/Professor titles, not eligible for tenure, focus on research, hired for one‑to‑five‑year terms.
