Springfield Behavioral of Pennsylvania, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Psychiatrist to join their team in West Chester, PA. This role involves treating a wide variety of mental health conditions for a diverse patient population. Providers will initially work on-site to build a caseload, with flexibility to transition to a hybrid in-person and remote model once a stable caseload is established. The organization provides comprehensive support, allowing providers to focus on patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize evidence-based screening tools, medical tests, and diagnostic criteria to diagnose mental health conditions and formulate comprehensive treatment plans
  • Collaborate with clinicians on patient care to provide supportive care to shared patient
  • Communicate effectively with referrals sources, i.e., physicians, schools, higher levels of care, etc., when working with their referred patients
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications per established protocols and clinical guidelines; monitor medication efficacy and side effects, adjusting treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records and clinical documentation, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Act as Collaborating Physician to PMHNP colleagues and provide appropriate support as needed

Compensation

  • Sign On Bonus offered for external candidates
  • Competitive salary & eligibility for quarterly incentive bonuses
  • Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $225,000 - $393,500
  • Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus and is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role

Requirements

  • Clear, active and unrestricted Physician license (MD/DO) in Pennsylvania
  • Board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
  • Active DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) registration
  • 3+ years of clinical experience in an outpatient behavioral health setting
  • Preferred: Experience working with patients in different age groups, including children to geriatrics
  • Preferred: Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation - Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS (or other EHRs)
