The North Carolina Department of Adult Corrections, Comprehensive HealthDivision, is responsible for providing necessary medical, dental and mental health care to a population of 30,000 offenders housed in 55 facilities across the state.

Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
- Completed an ACGME approved training program in psychiatry
- Prior experience in correctional, forensic, or inpatient psychiatric settings
Responsibilities
- Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations.
- Develop treatment plans and prescribe medication.
- Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Complete all necessary clincial documentation in an accurate and timely manner
- Accept obligations of scheduled assignments and perform all other duties as requested by the facility.
