Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Psychiatrist to join a fast-growing practice in Detroit Lakes, MN. This role offers the opportunity to work within a large behavioral health team, providing comprehensive psychiatric care to patients over the age of 12. Practice Info

  • Large behavioral health team with 5 psychologists (adult and pediatric), 1 MD, and 1 PHMNP psychiatric clinician
  • Possible outreach to other Sanford Clinics
  • Multispecialty group practice including audiology, behavioral health, dermatology, family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, orthopedics, podiatry, surgery, urology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and outreach from Fargo for other specialties including ophthalmology
  • Service region of 55,000

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination
  • Admit patients (if applicable to the setting)
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients above the age of 12 who suffer from mental, behavioral, addictive, or emotional disorders (e.g., psychoses, depression, anxiety disorders, substance abuse disorders, developmental disabilities, sexual dysfunctions, and adjustment disorders)

Shift & Schedule

  • Flexible schedule
  • Typically Monday - Friday 8am-5pm with hour lunch

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Psychiatry residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
  • If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
  • Ability to demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services of at least 30 patients in the last 12 months OR active involvement in the care of 30 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months
