Role Summary
The Lilac Center is seeking a highly qualified, Board-Certified Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to join our thriving practice in the Kansas City Metro. Our ideal candidate is an experienced clinician who is passionate about providing comprehensive psychiatric care across the lifespan—ages 5 through 80—in an outpatient setting who works a minimum of 16 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans for patients in the outpatient setting.
- Provide medication management and therapy to a diverse patient population.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Stay current with advancements in psychiatric treatment and research methodologies.
- Make referrals for psychotherapy when indicated and collaborate with all other mental health professionals involved in the patient’s care to ensure comprehensive treatment.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records; complete all documentation in compliance with legal/ethical standards.
- Advocate for clients' needs and rights, including access to psychiatric services and medications.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Active, unrestricted medical license in Kansas and Missouri, or willingness to obtain.
- Board-Certified Psychiatrist (MD or DO).
- Possess and maintain a valid Drug Enforcement Administration (“DEA”) number and all other licenses and certificates that may be lawfully required to prescribe medications, including controlled substances.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience treating children, adolescents, adults, and older adults (ages 5–80) in private practice.
- Strong understanding of psychiatrist assessment, diagnosis, medication management, and therapeutic techniques.
- Knowledge of evidence-based interventions in psychiatric treatment.
