Psychiatrist

This inpatient psychiatric facility in Massachusetts is seeking a qualified psychiatrist for an ongoing locum tenens assignment starting ASAP. The selected clinician will work within a 150-bed inpatient facility providing comprehensive psychiatric care, assessments, and therapy to an adult patient population. This role offers flexible scheduling options including a full-time weekday schedule or a part-time option with no call requirements.

• Inpatient psychiatric facility with a total capacity of 150 beds comprising 120 short-term acute care beds and 30 longer-term care beds
• Adult inpatient psychiatric population including short-term acute stays with an average length of stay of 5 to 13 days and variable long-term care
• Structured multidisciplinary framework including clinical, legal, and forensic collaboration
• On-site support staff includes 4 RNs and 2 office staff members
• Caseload/PPD of 24

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, evaluations, and psychological testing to support the diagnostic process
• Identify behavioral and emotional patterns
• Initiate and participate in treatment team risk assessments
• Maintain documentation utilizing the hospital electronic medical records system
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team, the Department of Mental Health clinical team, independent forensic review evaluators, unit attorney, court liaison staff, and the legal system
• Monitor the legal status of patients and provide updates to the treatment team
• Provide individual and group therapy as needed
• Deliver staff training when called upon

Shift & Schedule

• Dates needed: ASAP - Ongoing
• Day shift schedule of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
• Part-time option of 24 hours per week is also available
• Shift hours: Full time (40 hours)
• No call coverage required
