UNM Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a Psychiatrist (0.8–1.0 FTE) to join our team at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC). This opportunity offers flexibility to practice in a fully onsite or hybrid (onsite + tele-psychiatry) model, allowing you to shape your schedule while making a meaningful impact.
In this role, you will provide psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a diverse patient population within a correctional healthcare setting, collaborating closely with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care and outcomes.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide onsite and/or tele-psychiatric care for inmates referred by medical and clinical staff
- Develop and document treatment plans in accordance with national standards
- Manage medications, participate in treatment planning, and support Mental Health Unit programming
- Collaborate with care teams, contribute to case reviews, and provide clinical guidance
- Participate in on-call coverage, committees, and facility meetings as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- MD or DO with completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency
- Board certified or board eligible (preferred)
- Active medical license and DEA registrationInterest or experience in correctional medicine (preferred)
