Inpatient Psychiatrist Opportunity – Anchorage
A behavioral health facility in Alaska is seeking a General Psychiatrist to provide inpatient care for adult patients in both acute and long-term settings. This is a flexible opportunity ideal for physicians interested in meaningful, team-based psychiatric care in a unique and scenic region.
Responsibilities
- General Psychiatry (Board Certified preferred; Board Eligible accepted within 5 years of residency)
- Adult inpatient population (acute and long-term)
- Average length of stay: 7–10 days
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (40 hours/week)
Call Responsibilities
- Approximately one weeknight call per week and one weekend per month
- Weeknight call: taken from home, variable volume (0–10 calls/night)
- Weekend call: on-site rounding (3–4 hours), then remainder on-call from home
- Call compensation structure includes initial in-house coverage followed by callback pay
Clinical Focus
- Treatment of depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, psychosis, and trauma-related conditions
- Collaborative, multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and primary care providers
Additional Information
- Credentialing timeline: August 2026 start date
- EMR system: Meditech
- Open to licensing candidates; Alaska license preferred
- Will cover travel and lodging + Malpractice insurance
