Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP)

Location: Near Lafayette, Louisiana
Setting: Faith-Based Community Health Center
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) to join our faith-based community health center located near Lafayette, Louisiana . This is an excellent opportunity to serve patients in a mission-driven environment that integrates clinical excellence with whole-person, spiritually informed care.

The ideal candidate will provide high-quality mental health services to a diverse patient population through a mix of outpatient and inpatient settings. You’ll work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, therapists, and support staff who are committed to improving mental health access and outcomes within the community.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for patients across the lifespan
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and nursing staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Manage a caseload of outpatient clients and provide inpatient consultations as needed
  • Document patient encounters in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
  • Participate in care coordination, case conferences, and community outreach initiatives
  • Promote the organization’s faith-based mission and values through compassionate and ethical clinical practice

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Board Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
  • Current and unrestricted Louisiana APRN license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Prior experience in community mental health or integrated care preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach
  • Commitment to serving patients of all backgrounds within a faith-based framework
