Job Summary

Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider to join our Behavioral Health team in the Emergency Department. This full-time, hospital-employed overnight position plays a critical role in the assessment, stabilization, and triage of patients presenting with psychiatric emergencies. This role is fast-paced, autonomous, and deeply impactful, offering the opportunity to serve a high-need population during critical moments of care. Core Job Responsibilities

  Based in the Emergency Department providing frontline psychiatric evaluations

  Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments, risk evaluations, and crisis intervention

  n

• n

  Determine appropriate level of care

  n
n
• n

  Collaborate with ED physicians, psychiatric teams, social workers, and community agencies

  n
n
• n

  Coordinate care and admissions to inpatient psychiatric unit when necessary

  n
n
• n

  Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives

  n
n
• n

  Demonstrate quality in documentation

  n
n
• n

  Must be on site

  n
n
• n

  Must have MHNP Certification

  n
n

Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

n
• n

  Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program OR certification from an accredited NP program OR completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required.

• n

  Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting.

  n
n
• n

  Ability to meet and maintain credentialing requirements and hospital priviledges.

• n

  Knowledge and competency in a wide range of clinical areas.

  n
n
• n

  Familiar with EHR/EMR software.

  n
n

Licensure/Certification Requirements

REQUIRED:

• n

  Current NYS Nurse Practitioner licenses OR Current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges.

  n

• n

  Current BCLS, ACLS certifications.

  n
n

PREFERRED:

n
• Active ANCC certification in relevant specialty
