- Carry out examinations and mental health assessments
- Diagnose psychiatric illness
- Educate the patient or family
- Prescribe a treatment plan, including medications
- Lead psychotherapy sessions
- Coordinate services for other healthcare components

- CRNP-PMH (Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric Mental Health)
- APRN-PMH (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Psychiatric Mental Health)
- DEA
- Control Substance License
