Position Details

Seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry (PMHNP/NPP) to join our Outpatient Behavioral Health Team in the Hudson Valley.

Reporting and Status

Reports To: Medical Director, Associate Medical Director

Status: Full-Time, Exempt, Permanent

Schedule and Hybrid

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pm or 9:30am-6:30pm, with one late day 10:00am-7:00pm, 40 hrs per week.

Hybrid: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote telehealth.

Salary

150,000 - 175,000 annually (salaries based on education, experience, licensure, and board certification).

Position Overview

• Provide psychiatric care to clients in a community mental health setting.
• Exercise independent professional judgment with wide latitude.
• Act as a resource of information for other agency employees.
• Receive clinical supervision from the Medical Director and administrative supervision from the Center Director.

Position Qualifications

• Licensed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner / Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry (PMHNP/NPP) by the New York State Education Department.
• Master’s degree in nursing with a psychiatric focus.
• Board certified.
• 3+ years’ experience preferred.
• Current Medicare and Medicaid credentialing preferred.

Board Certification Requirement

Must hold board certification from one of the following:

• ANCC
• American Academy of NP
• AACN
• National Certificate of Nursing
• NPCC

Position Requirements

• Render psychiatric and neurological diagnostic services.
• Participate in intake and screening.
• Provide medication management.
• Ensure continuity of service.
• Provide referral information.
• Review intake and treatment plans and sign records as required.
• Participate in in-service training.
• Participate in community activities to promote awareness of psychiatric disorders.
• Act as a resource for staff in medicine, psychiatry, and neurology.

• Thorough professional knowledge of psychiatry practice.
• Good knowledge of current treatments and trends.
• Ability to supervise and instruct staff.
• Ability to develop community relations.
• Ability to write clear reports.
• Ability to maintain collaborative relationships with clinical and clerical staff.
• Inform Center/Clinic Director of clinical and administrative issues.
• Actively support program goals and systematic changes.
• Exercise sound judgment in patient evaluation and treatment decisions.
• Relate sympathetically to difficult clients.
• Physical condition commensurate with demands.
