Responsibilities
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) performs patient care focusing on individual differences, abnormal behavior, mental disorders and their prevention and improvement of patient lifestyles. This is realized through counseling and psychotherapeutic services. Serves as a consultant to other healthcare personnel.

Requirements
- NP Registered Nurse Practitioner – State Board of Registered Nursing required.
- Focus/Specialty - Psychiatric/mental health required.
- Specialty Certifications - ANCC American Nurses Credentialing Center required.
- Three years previous experience in psychiatric/medical social work is required.
- Substance abuse and/or addiction experience preferred.
- Must hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. Recertification required before expiration throughout employment.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
