Responsibilities

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you’ll be at the forefront of providing top‑notch mental health care. You’ll work directly with clients and families, conducting evaluations, managing medication therapies, and providing psychotherapy and counseling.

• Collaborate with the mental health team overseeing your own caseload of clients.
• Conduct evaluations, prescribe medications, order labs, and provide education to clients and families.
• Complete assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes within 24 hours.
• Coordinate with other providers to gather client histories and ensure smooth transitions during admissions and discharges.
• Attend treatment team meetings and training sessions.
• Participate in on‑call responsibilities for residential programs.
• Maintain excellent communication with the clinical team, outpatient providers, and family members.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner with full/independent practice authority in VA and Board Certification in Psychiatry.
• Current DEA license.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Psychiatric NP with adolescents and young adults.
• Experience in PHP/IOP/OP or other psychiatric treatment environments is strongly preferred.
