The Psychiatric Clinical Lead will collaborate with behavioral health care managers, primary care providers, and interdisciplinary teams to guide treatment planning, monitor patient progress, and recommend appropriate adjustments to care.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop treatment recommendationsProvide regularly scheduled consultation to behavioral health care managers and interdisciplinary teamsRecommend treatment adjustments, including medication recommendations and other appropriate interventionsCommunicate plans of care to primary care providers and community providersProvide telephone consultation to medical providers regarding complex patients and challenging situationsRespond to routine provider and behavioral health care manager calls within one business dayRespond to urgent calls within two hours when availableProvide psychoeducation, advocacy, emotional support, brief psychotherapy, family-based interventions, and cognitive/behavioral interventionsProvide psychopharmacology services and prescribe medications based on current pharmacological and physiological knowledgeMonitor mental status and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment interventionsUse evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to support screening, diagnosis, and treatmentEvaluate diagnoses and treatment effectiveness based on patient outcomesHelp coordinate multidisciplinary healthcare and integrated patient careProvide education and in-service training to primary care providers and staff regarding behavioral health conditionsProvide support and education to patients, families, staff, and groups regarding mental health conditions and psychiatric disordersMaintain accurate clinical records and follow established workflowsMaintain productivity standardsParticipate in continued professional developmentPerform other related duties as assignedRequirementsEducation:Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program requiredGraduate-level specialization in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing requiredDoctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) preferredLicensure and Certification:Current, unrestricted New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license requiredCurrent New York State Nurse Practitioner certification with a Psychiatry/Psychiatric Mental Health specialty requiredCurrent national board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) requiredCurrent DEA registration requiredNew York State prescribing privileges requiredMust meet all applicable New York State requirements for prescribing controlled substancesPreferred ExperienceAt least 1 year of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, including prescribing experience preferred3–6 months of experience in geriatric care preferredBilingual skills preferred but not requiredAdditional QualificationsAbility to work effectively within an interdisciplinary teamAbility to work effectively with diverse populations and culturesStrong communication and clinical decision-making skillsComfortable using a computer or laptop for clinical documentationAbility to travel to other regions or counties in New York as assignedValid unrestricted driver’s license and registered/insured vehicle highly preferredPhysical and Functional RequirementsThe position requires the ability to:Sit for extended periods, including 6–8 hours per dayStand for periods of up to 6 hours per dayLift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds of equipment and suppliesSafely assist with patient movement as neededBend and squat when necessaryWalk between work areas and sites and safely navigate stairsDemonstrate sufficient fine motor skills for typing and operating medical equipmentVisually assess patients and accurately read orders and complete documentationListen attentively and communicate clearly with patients, providers, staff, and community membersDemonstrate sound judgment, reasoning, cognitive ability, and analytical skills necessary to perform essential job functions#P1
