Psych Behavioral Health RN | Shift Leader | Inpatient Care

Shift - Day /Night

Duration- Full time

Job Summary:

We are seeking compassionate and skilled Registered Nurses (RNs) with experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings to join Larned State Hospital. The RN will provide direct patient care, support therapeutic treatment plans, and ensure a safe and structured environment for individuals with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide and delegate patient care while monitoring behavioral and physical changes
• Conduct nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and oversee medication management processes
• Maintain a therapeutic and safe patient environment
• Respond to medical and psychiatric emergencies
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality care
• Serve as a shift leader when assigned, including staff supervision and task delegation
• Follow physician orders and document patient progress accurately

Requirements:

• Active Kansas RN License or temporary permit (or ability to obtain)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in:
• Inpatient Psychiatric
• Behavioral Health
• OR Correctional Nursing
• Strong knowledge of patient care, assessment, and crisis intervention
• Ability to work flexible shifts (shift assigned after orientation; Day and night shift most common)
• Must pass drug screening and background check

Certifications Required:

CPR Certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association only)

Additional facility-required certifications (must be maintained throughout assignment)
