PSC Engineering Manager

Engineering ManagerManage and lead multi-disciplinary engineering team throughout all phases of the design, development, production, testing, operation, and maintenance for components, equipment, and tooling while conforming to NQA-1 requirements. Provides significant input and insight to manager and project managers on engineering effort related to the production of engineering designs and products, improves project performance by implementing lessons learned, and manages engineering staffing/resource needs and hiring. Oversees the full life cycle of technical projects, from conception to delivery and installation. Supports existing/installed products as needed.Essential Job Functions:Service accounts for assigned customers, including:Quoting and technical proposal developmentProject managementCustomer communicationVendor liaisonSchedulingAssembly and testing (as needed)Quality functionsDocumentationResponsible for proposal development, engineering, costing and technical descriptionsResponsible for engineering & production documentation for assigned projectsEngagement with various core production orders from contract review to shippingReview project drawings/instructions to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem, and possible solutions, such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts, or rearrangement of parts or subassembliesLeverage significant industry experience to review and approve design drawings as requiredDevelop/test equipment and apply knowledge of engineering technology with minimal oversightProvide input into project drawings/instructions to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem, including possible solutions, such as part redesign, substitution of material of parts, or rearrangement of parts or subassembliesDefine, implement, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to determine engineering team healthMentor and transition advanced industry knowledge to applicable stakeholdersMaintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulationsManages direct reports including technical resourcesResponsible for project delivery including coordination of all project resourcesPerforms 1-on-1's and responsible for direct reports performance and development, 3-8 direct reportsAll other duties as assigned.Product Support:Provide advanced technical support on projects with minimal oversightManage engineering team workload, including assigning project tasks, managing resources, implementing key decisions, and creating estimates as neededWork with Procurement and Facilities who will be leading the purchasing of materials and scheduling of parts (common and procured) to ensure all are being managed and flows smoothlyEssential Job Requirements:Knowledge of project management principals involved in coordinating, scheduling and directing projects.Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals for production of technical plans, drawings, models and ultimately fabrication and testing as needed.Knowledge of various quality assurance requirements as they apply to PSC products and design control.Ability to lead and direct internal personnel and subcontractors to ensure project fulfillment.Creative, analytical, detail-oriented, with good hands-on skills, and ability to work on and lead teamsStrong communication and administrative skillsStrong organizational skills and be detail orientedStrong ability to review and/or update budgetary and financial analyses/summariesStay current on all trainingMaintains safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulationsQualifications and Education Requirements:BS in engineering or related technical field5+ years of engineering experience in relevant field3+ years of Project Management experienceKnowledge of CAD systems, including AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKSMicrosoft Office and Project tracking experienceAble to function in a dynamic fast-moving environmentQualifications and Education Preferences:BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with experience in industrial controls and knowledge of industrial power systemsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
