Job Summary

This position provides outpatient psychiatric care and mental health treatment to patients seen in a Huntsman Mental Health Institute Outpatient Clinic. The role may include diagnosing, creating treatment plans, prescribing psychiatric medications, establishing medication management treatment plans, providing psychotherapy, and potentially administering medications for patients in an outpatient setting, either in clinic or remotely, within scope of practice and according to state law.

Responsibilities

• Perform mental health evaluations, diagnose, and create treatment plans
• Triage patients and make referrals when appropriate
• Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary treatment team
• Prescribe medication and provide psychotherapy
• Develop safety planning

Minimum Qualifications

• Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system (obtained within 30 days of hire)
• Valid registered license in the state where practice is intended as an advanced practice psychiatric mental health nurse
• Completion of ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP‑BC)

• Preferred: 2 years of ambulatory mental health experience
