Blockchain Protocol Engineer
In this contingent resource assignment, you will consult on or participate in moderately complex initiatives within Specialty Software Engineering. You will analyze and contribute to solving advanced engineering challenges in distributed systems and applied cryptography while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This role focuses on building next-generation blockchain-based financial infrastructure with a strong emphasis on privacy, regulatory compliance, and performance.
Top Requirements
- 3+ years of backend/systems programming with expert-level Go (Golang).
- Experience with distributed systems, BFT consensus, and P2P networking.
- Exposure to cryptography concepts (ECC, zero-knowledge proofs, or privacy-preserving protocols).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Cosmos SDK and CometBFT (Tendermint).
- Knowledge of Pedersen Commitments, Bulletproofs, or MPC.
- Ability to translate mathematical/cryptographic concepts into production code.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Design and develop core protocol components using Go, Cosmos SDK, and CometBFT.
- Build and optimize blockchain settlement engine functionality.
- Implement cryptographic primitives such as Pedersen Commitments and Bulletproofs.
- Develop and extend consensus mechanisms using ABCI++ (PrepareProposal, Vote Extensions).
- Design and maintain distributed state machines for encrypted ledger balances.
- Optimize performance of cryptographic operations (elliptic curve computations).
- Build secure auditing layers with permissioned access ("view key" mechanisms).
- Collaborate with engineering and research teams to translate cryptographic specifications into working code.
- Participate in architectural decisions for distributed systems and protocol design.
