Protection and Controls Engineer (Relay)

Responsibilities

This position performs engineering conceptual design, studies, calculations, and protection settings development for substation protection systems. Primary job responsibilities will be focused on the application of new protective relaying for existing infrastructure or new transmission system capital investments.

Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of routine problems in area of expertise.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Aspen Relay Database, Aspen OneLiner, CymTCC, SEL-5010, SEL-5030 AcSELerator software (one of these is fine)
  • 3+ years as a Relay Settings Engineer
  • Understanding and experience with NERC Compliance Standards including but not limited to: PRC-006, PRC-023, PRC-025, PRC-026, PRC-027, CIP-010, CIP-002, FAC-008 (one of these is fine)
  • Familiarity with electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based relaying.
