Role Description The Prospective Broker role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Capital District, NY. This role focuses on developing and managing relationships with retailers, distributors, and other partners to expand the presence of Goya products in the market. Day-to-day responsibilities include identifying new business opportunities, presenting product offerings, negotiating terms, and coordinating with internal sales and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery. The Prospective Broker will monitor market trends, analyze sales data, and provide feedback to support promotional strategies and product placement. The role also involves regular visits to customer locations, participation in trade events, and consistent follow-up to maintain strong, professional relationships.

Qualifications

  • Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to develop and maintain long-term partnerships.
  • Experience in brokerage, retail, distribution, or consumer packaged goods, preferably within the food or grocery industry.
  • Solid organizational, planning, and time-management skills, including managing multiple accounts and priorities.
  • Competence in basic business analysis, including reviewing sales reports, tracking performance, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills, including presenting products and proposals to diverse stakeholders.
  • Comfort working on-site and traveling within the Capital District, NY area to visit clients and attend meetings or events.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, use sound judgment, and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
  • Familiarity with Latino cuisine, Goya product lines, or multicultural markets is highly beneficial.
  • Proficiency with common office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, presentations) and basic CRM or account management tools.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, marketing, or a related field is a plus.
