Responsibilities
- Analyzes steady-state engine performance and detailed thermodynamic cycle data
- Assesses engine operation across various conditions and certifies operating characteristics
- Analyzes and communicates engine performance impacts on airplane subsystem performance
- Collaborates with disciplines across the airplane to provide engine performance expertise
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and contributes to certification documentation
- Conducts data analysis and risk assessments for flight tests
- Coordinates with engine suppliers on engine/airplane performance throughout an airplane program's lifecycle
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry
- 5+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
- 1+ years experience in propulsion and thermodynamics
- Foundational knowledge of gas turbine engine operation and thermodynamics
- Experience with engine performance modeling tools & methods
- Proficiency with Linux/Unix computing systems and shell scripting
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for engine and airplane certification
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
