Property Accounting Manager - Hybrid
Our client is a vertically integrated company dedicated to acquiring, developing, managing, and financing student housing and build-to-rent (BTR) properties. Its residential communities offer top-tier amenities, innovative design, and exceptional, hospitality-focused customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the third-party accounting team, ensuring adherence to accounting practices and deadlines.
- Review consolidated analyses, journal entries, and monthly variance reports.
- Collaborate with the Joint Venture Reporting Manager on financial reporting.
- Work closely with operations staff and asset managers.
- Lead financial package distribution to lenders and partners.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and resolve related issues.
- Oversee property acquisition/disposition entries and financial reporting for sold entities.
- Review bank reconciliations and journal entries as needed.
- Ensure all internal and external deadlines are met.
- Update Standard Operating Procedures & Best Practice Memos.
- Assist with ad hoc projects as needed.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of supervisor experience & 8 years of accounting experience in the Real Estate industry (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA or Master’s preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP compliance
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Drive and desire to learn new technologies and grow technical and functional skill sets
