Engage in impactful projects preserving affordable housing.Job DescriptionProperty Accountant OverviewThe Property Accountant role offers the opportunity to contribute to a leading institutional real estate platform managing $4B+ in multifamily investments.Handle financial aspects of residential property management, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and contributing to operational efficiency.Collaborate with teams across property management, acquisitions, and asset management to drive accounting success.Maintain thorough understanding of property management financial processes and utilize advanced accounting software tools.Work within a positive, rewarding atmosphere promoting diversity and teamwork.Contribute to the preservation of affordable housing across the United States.Engage in professional development opportunities to expand industry knowledge and skills.Enjoy comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans.Property Accountant Key Responsibilities & DutiesAssist in onboarding outsourced residential property management accounting functions, including bank reconciliation and monthly close processes.Serve as an accounting liaison to internal teams to facilitate collaboration and success.Facilitate the accounting close process and create monthly reporting packages and financial statements.Conduct ad hoc analysis, reporting, and special projects as needed.Positively interact with communities regarding operational concerns and implement effective systems.Respond promptly to housing violations and liability concerns regarding properties.Ensure adherence to property management rules, regulations, and guidelines.Participate in occasional travel to business offices, communities, and events.Property Accountant Job RequirementsBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years of experience in property accounting; 6 years preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Yardi, and other accounting software.Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Ability to interact effectively with senior executives, vendors, and community associates.Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace.Capability to work under time constraints and adapt to changing priorities.
