Overview

Our client, a nationally recognized engineering and consulting firm, is seeking a Project Traffic Engineer / Project Manager to join its growing transportation team. This individual will lead traffic engineering and transportation projects while supporting clients, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to business growth initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed engineer looking to take ownership of projects, develop client relationships, and help shape transportation infrastructure in a collaborative consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage traffic engineering and transportation projects from planning through delivery.
• Perform and oversee traffic impact studies and operational analyses.
• Lead traffic signal, intersection, and roadway design efforts.
• Coordinate with clients, public agencies, and project stakeholders.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
• Review technical reports, studies, and engineering plans.
• Mentor and develop junior engineering staff.
• Support proposal development and business development activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of traffic engineering or transportation engineering experience.
• Experience conducting traffic studies and operational analyses.
• Knowledge of roadway and traffic signal design principles.
• Proficiency with traffic analysis software such as Synchro and HCS.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Experience working in a consulting environment preferred.
