Street Cut Permit Specialist
Performs technical review and processing of Street Cut permit applications and construction plans to ensure compliance with City codes, standards, and permitting requirements. Coordinates with applicants and internal stakeholders to facilitate timely permit issuance and provide customer support. Reviews permit applications, plans, and supporting documents for compliance with applicable requirements. Processes Street Cut permits from application through issuance. Coordinates with applicants, contractors, utilities, and City departments to resolve application deficiencies. Provides technical guidance and responds to permit-related inquiries. Documents review comments and maintains accurate permitting records. Assists with workload management, backlog reduction, and process improvements. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge: Requires an Associate's degree in Engineering, Drafting, Designing or a closely related field.
Experience: Four years of related experience, such as engineering, drafting and/or designing, are required. Directly related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Physical Effort: The position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc.
Work Environment: There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature and air conditions
Physical Skill: Requires the ability to make coordinated gross motor movements in response to changing external stimuli within moderately demanding tolerances; or the ability to make coordinated eye/hand movements on a patterned response space within low tolerance demands with no real speed requirements.
