Job Overview
Our client, an established multidisciplinary professional services firm, is seeking an experienced Project Surveyor with 5+ years of experience to join its Chantilly, VA team.
This role supports residential, commercial, and public infrastructure projects, transforming field data, survey notes, and legal descriptions into accurate CAD drawings, maps, and survey plats. Ideal candidates bring strong AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency , land surveying knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, subdivision, as-built, and easement survey drawings.
- Process field data, GPS coordinates, survey notes, surfaces, and contours using CAD.
- Research property records, deeds, plats, and legal descriptions to establish boundaries.
- Review and revise drawings based on QA/QC feedback and municipal requirements.
- Collaborate with field crews, surveyors, and engineers to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain accurate project drawings, digital files, and documentation.
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of land survey drafting experience within a civil engineering or surveying firm.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D .
- Strong understanding of land surveying, geomatics, and civil infrastructure.
- Ability to interpret legal descriptions, deeds, field notes, and engineering plans.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and time management skills.
- High school diploma required; CAD, Drafting, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering-related degree/certificate preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
$80,000–$105,000+ (commensurate with experience)
