Project SuperintendentP.J. Keating Company is seeking a Heavy Highway Construction Project Superintendent in Massachusetts. Job responsibilities will include, but not limited to, the supervision of Heavy Highway construction contracts. This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, directing, and coordinating activities of assigned projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters. Ability to work flexible shifts (day/night) and adapt to schedule/location changes.Requirements/QualificationsEnsure safety compliance for crews, subcontractors, and the public; adhere to company, contract, state, and federal safety standards (MUTCD, OSHA, etc.).Responsible for the supervision and coordination of all workers on projects, including subcontractors and vendors.Develop and communicate project schedules to customer, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.Ensuring quality control plan and company quality standards are met.Responsible for P&L on projects.Maintain and submit daily reports.Responsible for daily progress of all items performed daily.Responsible for tracking and documenting all work on a daily basis, including subcontractors.Responsible for quantity reconciliation and accurate and timely payments for all work performed.Analyse daily job cost reports and weekly trend reports.Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, final product quality and crew performance.Place orders for materials, trucks and equipment as necessary.Requesting and submitting purchase orders ahead of time for required purchases.Manage compliance with all contract requirements.Manage correspondence with customers, subcontractors, admin staff and managers.Maintain time and materials records necessary to complete daily job costing.Training new crew members.Daily communication with Project Manager and customers regarding status of projects, schedule and payments.Participate in the estimating and bidding process.Preferred: ability to read plans/blueprints and basic survey knowledge.Skills and CompetenciesStrong leadership and communication skillsAbility to set objectives and goals and drive resultsAbility to compute, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measureAbility to read and interpret documents.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, staff, customers, agencies, and the general public.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma required; bachelor's in construction management preferred.Secondary education with construction management or civil focus is preferred5+ years of heavy highway construction supervision (MassDOT experience preferred).Knowledge of MassDOT specifications and contract documents preferredSalary & BenefitsSalary: $90,000–$120,000 (based on experience) + night shift differential + bonus potential.
