Project Quality EngineerLocation: Portage, US, Job Area: OtherJob Level: ExperiencedMain Tasks Key Responsibilities:Lead, track, and verify all aspects of the supplier APQP process for purchased parts and inter-company partnersConduct supplier process releases and production readiness assessments as requiredEnsure customer and internal MANN+HUMMEL quality requirements are fully integrated into the APQP processServe as the subject matter expert on APQP tools (including customer-specific requirements) within the project teamCommunicate lessons learned and support standardization and continuous improvement of APQP processes across SQDExercise authority to stop production processes or product shipments in case of non-conformityOwn and execute all quality activities defined within xSEP; evaluate completeness and adherence to APQP deliverables across project phasesCollaborate with Lead Design Engineer to review drawings (AZ/WZ) and ensure proper definition of dimensions, special characteristics, and specifications prior to releaseEnsure conformity of parts delivered to the customer throughout development phases prior to SOP; approve sample releases for shipmentCoordinate and submit customer PPAP packages and secure customer approvalLead structured problem-solving (e.g., 8D) for customer claims and internal deviations prior to SOPSupport production sites during launch, including updates to quality documentationObtain production site approval for quality handover documentation per IPT checklist prior to Gate 6Present project quality status and readiness to customersQualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or Associate degree (AAS) with 10+ years of advanced quality experienceExperience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Quality Engineer, Project Engineer, or in a closely related role within automotive or manufacturing environmentsPreferred: Two years of experience with: Interpreting drawings and requirements for ensuring the adherence to Quality parameters Supporting launch activities at sister plants and supplier locations Use of tools such as xSEP, Engineering Workflows, CDB, QStat, Apis IQ-FMEA, and SAP Using APQP procedures, 8D, control plan, capability analysis, MSA, SPC, FMEA, GD&T, and Gage DesignAdditional Requirement: Up to 25% of international and national travel required to various unanticipated locations
