As a Project Manager for Structures, you will take ownership of projects from start to finish, and work on challenging assignments, including designing, evaluating, and analyzing highway bridges. This position is intended to grow into a leadership role, with the opportunity to lead the New Mexico Structures Group within the next 3–5 years.Core Responsibilities for the RoleDesign, evaluate, and analyze highway bridgesPrepare designs, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and specificationsWork in cooperation with bridge staff to deliver PS&E contract documents on time and within the project budget for local agencies, federal agencies, and state DOTsPerform or check bridge designs using CSiBridge, Conspan, RC Pier, BRASS, MDX, and/or other bridge softwareDesign or check retaining wall and other structural components in support of roadway or site civil projectsEstablish and maintain client relationships; ensure client satisfaction; ensure client objectives are metAssist in building a strong regional presence for the firm in transportation and structural engineeringDevelopment of project work plans and scopes of workProvide project oversight and schedule monitoringPrepare fee proposals and track and manage project budgets and invoicingCoordinate and conduct meetings with project stakeholdersCoordinate with office management and other project managers to share resourcesAssist in proposal preparation including oral presentations. Also prepare the scope, schedule, and budget for new projectsWork within a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projectsTake ownership of projects from start to finishQualifications, Skills, and Competencies:B.S. degree in Civil Engineering10-15 years of bridge and other transportation structures design and project management experienceWillingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other offices, some travel required--<10%Solid organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members.Willingness to work on projects locally or in workshare with other officesPossess a proven history of meeting project deadlines and budgetsOutstanding interpersonal and customer service skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExperience working in bridge design teamsDesign Build and Alternative Delivery experience a plusEstablished relationships with local clients a plusSolid understanding of transportation projectsExperience in managing technical staff and project teamsAbility to manage several projects concurrentlyWhy Would a Candidate Want This Job?At Horrocks, you can expect a competitive base salary and award-winning benefits.
