Project Manager / Senior Project Manager – EnergyTetra Tech is adding a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager – Energy to support siting and permitting of utility-scale energy projects across California. Discover your full potential – join us to advance your career while leaving a lasting legacy.Essential Job Functions:Project Management & ExecutionServe as Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, leading siting, routing, and environmental permitting projectsManage multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budgetLead preparation of land use and resource permit applications for federal, state, and local agenciesSupport project development activities, including technical analysis, permitting strategy, and financial considerationsEnsure adherence to health and safety protocolsBusiness DevelopmentSupport and lead RFI, RFP, and RFQ responsesIdentify and pursue new project opportunities through client engagement and professional networksDevelop proposal strategies, scopes, and cost estimates to secure new workMaintain a high level of industry knowledge and professional developmentLeadershipMentor and support junior and mid-level project managers and plannersContribute to a collaborative team environment focused on client service and safetySupport growth and development of the energy practiceConduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.Additional duties as required.Qualifications:Capabilities & CredentialsHigh-integrity professional with a strong commitment to delivering resultsProven ability to build and maintain client relationshipsStrong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skillsAbility to travel up to 25% as neededMust possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related technical field8–15+ years of experience in environmental permitting and energy project developmentExperience with:Siting and routing evaluationsEnvironmental permitting and regulatory processesTechnical studies and permit applicationsExperience managing and/or authoring:CEQA (EIRs/MNDs)NEPA documentationCalifornia Energy Commission (CEC) and/or CPUC applicationsPrior environmental consulting experience strongly preferredFamiliarity with GIS and siting-related softwareStrong technical writing, organizational, and communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Project and ArcGIS preferred)Work Environment / Travel:Remote-based role within California with affiliation to the Irvine officeTravel required for project work, client meetings, and team collaborationLife at Tetra Tech:Comprehensive and market-competitive benefits.Merit-based financial rewards.Flexibility and company-wide commitment to work/life balance.Collaborative team atmosphere that values the contributions of all employees.Learning and development opportunities for ongoing professional growth.A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.Compensation: Pay commensurate with experience.
