Project ManagerLocation: San Diego, CA, 92121Duration: 12 MonthsJob DescriptionProject Manager is responsible for managing the execution of programs and/or projects consisting of single or multiple projects. Works within the constraints of budget, schedule and scope while managing and communicating risk and ensuring adherence to established processes and methodologies.Seeking a highly motivated, self-directed, and experienced person to lead Agile software development.The ideal candidate is a professional who is a program or project manager for a company that develops enterprise-class software applications, has led multiple teams of 10+ software engineers indirectly reporting to the candidate, with experience in managing geographically dispersed teams.Strong management skills with a proven record of providing direction and leadership to others are essential.The candidate must be a highly effective communicator and problem-solver.The candidate must also possess demonstrated skills in leading and managing change; should possess the ability to pull together ideas and suggestions, shape them into a vision, and then implement this in the project plans.The selected candidate will bring new ideas, creativity and perspectives to our organization. Candidate will lead by example, with leadership focused on accountability, collaboration, and transparency.Candidate will also nurture a sense of camaraderie, success and appreciation among your team, and identify opportunities to improve team performance and effectiveness.Excellent communication and cooperation within the Product Development organization and with all departments/stakeholders within the business unit (and beyond) is essential for success.Key ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates advanced knowledge of project and program management principles.Uses project management tools to manage large and complex projects or programs.Defines and manages scope, time and resources of large scale, complex projects or programs.Facilitates identification of project or program risks/issues, develops and assigns responsibility for mitigation/resolution actions; manages mitigation plan.Refines project management methodologies for quality and project or program risk management.Synthesizes critical information and communicates business implications to stakeholders.Consults with the senior management team and non-technology organization personnel.Has depth and breadth of experience in project management; integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities.Applies in-depth skills and broad knowledge of the business to address complex problems and non-standard situations.Provides leadership in the form of coaching, mentoring, and/or training.Acts as a key contributor in a complex environment.Measures project performance for schedule and resource effort variance.QualificationsRequires a highly motivated, dynamic and customer-centric leader who thrives in a challenging and changing environment.Experience in highly government-regulated, healthcare/medical device environmentExperience leading hardware and software development teams, encompassing Electrical, Mechanical, Embedded software, Enterprise Software solutions, SaaS and IaaSProven expertise in developing and moving existing products to new IT platforms, as well as embracing a platform/product development paradigmA proven track record of executing of all aspects of product development including requirements, design, development, verification and validation as well as other aspects (e.g.

performance, security, usability, scalability, install-ability, supportability) relevant to the final commercialized productExperience leading development teams using Microsoft technologies (.NET, C++, C#, SQL, Windows, etc.), agile development practices, and cloud deployment experience is preferredDemonstrated ability to successfully influence people and teams at all levels without direct authority.Proven success building employee engagement; creating, communicating and building understanding of a shared vision.Complete understanding of a wide application of business and program management principles, theories and concepts in the field.Generally-accepted Program and Project Management tools (ex: PMBOK®), structured product development process(es)Experience with both Agile and Waterfall program management, SCRUM and PMP certification preferred.Exceptional critical thinking and change management skills.Demonstrated analytical, decision making, prioritization and problem solving skills.Demonstrated ability to manage conflicts and ambiguity to drive clarity and deliver results.Demonstrates a high level of business acumen integrated across finance, marketing, sales, service, R&D and manufacturing.Demonstrated results and solutions-orientation as achieved through optimized processes and flawless execution.Ability to champion and execute customer-centric approaches, ideas, methods, and processes.Demonstrated strategic agility.Experience navigating self and teams in cross-functional environments and/or matrix organizations.Requires polished presentation skills to executive leadership level. Represents self and program with an executive presence. Must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills.Knowledge of and experience in structured product development processes.Effective meeting management and group facilitation skills.Minimum Education and ExperienceRequires a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field with a minimum of 2–4 years relevant experience managing the delivery for multi-project hardware and software product development core teams.
