Join a team that's naturally committed to the environment.Your role as Project Manager will lead the delivery and project management of electrical transmission routing and substation siting projects for investor-owned utilities and independent transmission developers.

In this role, you will provide project management, serve as either routing and siting or environmental permitting subject matter expert, supervise and mentor staff, and support business development opportunities. You will also write proposals and reports, develop plans, and implement steps to move projects toward closure in the most cost-effective manner.Your key responsibilities include:Manage tasks and projects according to approved scopes of work, and deliver quality reports on schedule and within budgetManage and lead routing and siting studies for linear energy projectsContribute to and lead business development activities, including proposals, pre-qualifications, and relationship building with clients and prospective clientsInteract and interface with clients and environmental regulatorsPrepare contract documentsParticipate in health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines in the execution of all workProvide supervision, training, technical direction, and mentoring to more junior staffExecute specific technical tasks or requirements for medium to large projectsConduct peer reviews of work by colleaguesPlan and conduct assignments and/or projects having broad scope for independent accomplishment and coordination of difficult tasksYour capabilities and credentials include:Experience successfully executing technical aspects of medium to complex routing and siting projectsAdvanced skills in technical writingAn understanding of geographic information system (GIS) processes and capabilities (prior GIS experience is desirable, but current GIS expertise is not necessary)Skilled in communications and technical information exchange with clients, engineers and scientists, and government regulators and agencies, as well as non-technical communication to the publicDisciplined approach to project execution and technical excellenceAbility to provide written and verbal direction on project deliveryShows leadership in striving to continuously improve technical performanceBuilds and maintains productive professional and personal networking relationshipsProficient in and consistently demonstrates and promotes policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (if applicable)Good driving record and valid driver's license requiredEducation and experience:Bachelor's degree in environmental science, planning, engineering, or related field8+ years in related industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., advanced degree) and experiencePay Range: Various locations in ME, VA, MN, OH, VT, CA, ME, NY, VA, CO, HI, IL, MD, CA, NJ, VA, WA, DC, CA, MA, VA, NYC, CA (Bay Area), NJ (RP)Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
