Roadway Group LeadAt RK&K, we are hiring a Roadway Group Lead to support existing clients and lead the growth of our roadway group in the Tennessee region. As a senior member of our Tennessee team, you will focus on managing and delivering a diverse range of roadway projects, advancing technical excellence, and supporting strategic expansion into new service areas.Join our one-profit-center team as you lead roadway design and engineering efforts, develop and evaluate design alternatives, mentor talented engineering staff, and guide the successful execution of roadway planning and design projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of AASHTO and local/state design criteria. Coordination with clients, consultants, government agencies, and internal project teams will be essential.Willing to consider candidates throughout the US.

Sign-on bonus also available based on candidate's experience.Essential FunctionsLead roadway and transportation design projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environmentMentor junior engineers and technicians on roadway design tasksApply Highway Design Standards and other relevant roadway design manuals and guidelinesProduce and oversee the development of construction documents, specifications, and cost estimatesDemonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills; thrive in collaborative team settingsServe as Project/Program and Contractual Manager on roadway and transportation projectsFacilitate internal and client meetings, presentations, and project approvalsDirect project staff and sub-consultantsServe as liaison between client and firmSupport Business Development and Marketing efforts to secure future clients and workloadRequired Skills and ExperienceBS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering programTen (10)+ years of civil engineering experience focused on roadway/transportation designTennessee Professional Engineering Registration (PE) or ability to obtain within six (6) monthsExpertise in MicroStation / GEOPAK / InRoads / OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD / Civil 3D; proficiency in Microsoft Word and ExcelExperience working with DOT, state, and local government agenciesPreferred Skills and ExperienceFifteen (15)+ years of roadway/transportation design experienceExperience with alternative project delivery methodsExperience working with TDOT, state, and local government agenciesOther DutiesThis job description indicates the general nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under ADA).
