(Contract, 6+ Months, Hybrid role in Chicago, IL)
About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead projects from kickoff to closeout using PMBOK standards. You’ll own planning, scheduling, budgets, risk, and stakeholder communication, and keep projects on time and within budget. This is a fully remote contract position.
What You’ll Do
- Build and manage the master project plan, project charter, scope, and change control process
- Create and maintain detailed schedules and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and track progress against baselines
- Manage project budgets, monitor costs, margins, and cash flow, and report status to management
- Identify and track risks, maintain risk registers and mitigation plans, and escalate major issues with recovery recommendations
- Communicate with stakeholders and provide executive-level reporting
Must Have
- Hands-on experience with 9-1-1 systems and operations
- 4 to 7 years of project management experience
- Experience managing projects using PMBOK methodologies
- Experience building project schedules and WBS structures
- Experience managing project budgets and financial performance
- Strong leadership, xhqgsiq communication, and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
- Experience leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of public safety communications and agencies (Police, Fire, EMS)
- Experience with MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar tools
- Experience with Google Workspace
