Position Overview

  • We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – Experimental Flight Test to lead complex aerospace projects supporting experimental, development, and certification flight test activities.
  • This position will manage cross-functional teams and coordinate closely with engineering, flight test personnel, technical experts, suppliers, business leaders, and customer representatives. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring projects are executed successfully within established scope, schedule, budget, resource, and technical requirements.
  • The ideal candidate will combine strong aerospace project management experience with direct exposure to aircraft development and certification flight test programs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver complex projects and activities supporting Experimental Flight Test.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in establishing and managing project scope, schedule, budget, resources, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Work closely with engineering teams, technical experts, business leaders, suppliers, and customer representatives to ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project schedules and priorities across multiple activities.
  • Coordinate activities across Flight Test, Engineering, Program Management, suppliers, and other technical organizations.
  • Identify project and program risks and lead the development and execution of risk mitigation plans.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively address schedule, technical, resource, and budget challenges.
  • Participate in and coordinate internal safety and product review processes related to potential aircraft or product deficiencies.
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to assess, contain, and resolve technical and program-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain project budget requirements and resource allocation plans.
  • Prepare and present project status, schedule, budget, risk, and resource reports to various levels of leadership.
  • Coordinate and manage multi-site activities and remote team participation as required.
  • Drive projects through completion while ensuring established program objectives, milestones, and commitments are achieved.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5–8 years of Project Management experience within the aerospace industry.
  • Previous experience supporting development and/or certification Flight Test programs.
  • Advanced knowledge of Project Management processes, methodologies, and principles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional aerospace projects.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and deliverables.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate with engineering teams, technical experts, suppliers, customers, and business leadership.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated commitment to project objectives and responsibilities.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to keep projects moving toward established targets.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced aerospace and flight test environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Project.

Ideal Candidate

  • The ideal candidate is an experienced Aerospace Project Manager with direct Flight Test experience who understands the unique challenges associated with aircraft development and certification programs.
  • This individual should be comfortable working directly with Flight Test Engineers, engineering teams, suppliers, customers, and program leadership while taking ownership of scope, schedule, budget, resources, risk, and overall project execution.
  • Candidates with hands-on experience managing projects involving experimental aircraft, development flight testing, or certification flight testing will be particularly well aligned with this opportunity.
