Project Manager

Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications company, is looking for a Project Manager to maximize its operational efficiency.

Position Summary: The successful candidate will support the optimization of buried service wire (BSW) operations across multiple states and times zones. Working closely with third party contractors and field personnel to maximize efficiency and ensure service deadlines are met. The candidate will serve as a key point of contact for BSW escalations, coordinate vendor performance, track job progress, identify potential barriers, and hold vendors accountable for meeting quality and completion expectations. The role requires strong project and vendor management skills, excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and a solid understanding of the telecommunications industry.

What type of experience does the right candidate have:

• 5+ years of telecommunications experience
• Project coordination, project management, vendor management, or vendor coordination experience
• Experience managing third-party vendors and holding partners accountable to deadlines and quality expectations
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
• Experience tracking large volumes of jobs, deadlines, permits, or service activities
• Experience working with telecom construction, fiber networks, aerial/underground construction, buried service wire, or related telecommunications operations
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
• Experience with Power Apps, GIS systems, IQGeo, or utility application systems is a plus
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple states in a deadline-driven environment

What the responsibilities are of the right candidate:

• Serve as a primary point of contact for customer BSW escalations and jeopardy management
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors across many states
• Conduct regular meetings with vendors to review performance, deadlines, and outstanding work
• Track approximately 1,000 jobs per week and ensure service deadlines are met
• Monitor vendor performance and hold contractors accountable for completion dates and quality expectations
• Identify potential barriers to service completion and proactively resolve issues
• Escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate internal teams or leadership
• Coordinate activities between contractors, field personnel, and internal stakeholders
• Manage multiple permits, priorities, and service requests simultaneously
• Use Excel and other Microsoft Office tools to track, analyze, and report operational data
• Help optimize processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency
