Project Manager

Rhode Island | Up to $220,000 base + bonus + company truck

The Fordy Group is working with a family-run heavy civil contractor that’s been building across New England for over 60 years. Their bridge, highway and infrastructure work is busy, and they’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to take on major projects.

They build bridges, highways, utilities, culverts and dams, and they’re known for doing it safely and to a high standard. They look after their people too, and plenty of the team have built long careers with them.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take major projects from preconstruction through to closeout and own them. That means the budget, schedule, contracts, cost tracking and forecasting. You’ll work closely with the Superintendents and field crews, as well as subs, suppliers, engineers, inspectors and owners.

Day to day you’ll be handling RFIs, submittals, change orders and pay apps, leading project meetings, and getting ahead of issues before they turn into problems. You’ll also help the estimating team on upcoming bids, so you’ll have a hand in the work you end up delivering.

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience as a PM or APM in heavy civil construction
• A background in bridges, highways, roads, utilities or major infrastructure
• A track record managing complex public or private projects, with a firm grip on cost and schedule
• Confidence reading civil plans, specs and contract documents
• Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
• A BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent industry experience
