Plumbing Project ManagerMonona Plumbing & Fire Protection is looking for a Plumbing Project Manager for our Plumbing Construction Division!This project manager position has estimating, project management, and business development responsibilities and is responsible for any and all tasks necessary to put together a complete estimate. This position manages projects from bid preparation to final completion of the project. This position is one of independent project supervision on projects of varying sizes and complexities and has direct profit and loss responsibility on assigned projects. This position takes full responsibility for project management to ensure a successful outcome for customers and the company.Key Responsibilities:EstimatingIdentify new project opportunitiesAttend pre-bid meetings and walkthroughsReview plans, specifications, and bid documents and procure all necessary information required for the estimateFollow up with General Contractors/Engineers on budgeting questions and pricing as neededPerform bid layouts, material counts, and prepare totalsPerform detailed material take-offs of project per systemProcure all necessary quotesCreate project estimates and prepare the proposals and documentation for submissionProject ManagementPrepare project budgets and schedule of valuesAttend project meetingsMonitor labor, material, and job cost reports to maximize performance and profitabilityParticipate in monthly WIP meetings and assist with monthly billingsPurchase materials for all assigned jobsManage and coordinate project activities to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budgetMonitor construction through direction and support of foreman to ensure project is on schedule and within budget and assess any potential job cost impactsPrepare and submit change orders for projects and manage change orders to the scope of work to maintain profitabilityFunction as primary point of contact with GC and field team throughout the project; effectively communicate changes to field personnelBusiness DevelopmentAttend meetings/interviews with customers/GCs to serve as technical resource and present/sell our plumbing capabilitiesEstablish and maintain relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and others in the industryAttend industry and MPFP customer eventsCross-sell other areas of the business to customersKnowledge, Skills, and ExperienceBachelor's degree in construction management or equivalent industry or trade experience5+ years of project management experience in the construction industry to include project management of medium to large scale commercial construction projectsValid driver's license and clean driving record to drive a vehicle for company businessTechnical knowledge and understanding of plumbing systems and codes, design and construction of plumbing systems for commercial buildings, and all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods, estimating, scheduling, safety)Understanding of job financial reports and the ability to apply these in managing assigned projectsAbility to read and understand plans and technical specifications, present yourself as professional and knowledgeable, build new customer relationships while nurturing and maintaining existing relationships, organize and manage multiple tasks, priorities, and projects effectivelyStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Note: This job description provides an overview of the responsibilities and requirements of this position.
