Project Manager IIA Project Manager II provides leadership for and oversight of the design and construction of Power Delivery projects. Works with team to secure, manage, and deliver projects from new and existing clients. Candidates have a level of leadership experience in the field or a relevant specialty, demonstrate ability to understand engineering concepts applicable to the job area, and be interested in continuous learning.

NV5 prefers candidates with experience in public utility design and construction, as well as experience with business management.ResponsibilitiesManages scope, schedule, and budget of individual projects Works with matrixed team to provide tasks and deliverables on timeProvides clear direction of next steps when needed to design teamMonitors KPI's, critical path, issues managementProvides project analysis and metrics for individual projectsPrimary point of contact for internal peersPrimary point of contact for client's internal work teamsManages construction, procurement, invoice preparation, and project documentationContinuously build and maintain a network of third-party consultants and vendorsLead project acquisition efforts including identifying opportunities and working collaboratively with Marketing team in preparing bids and interviews for jobsDemonstrate a working knowledge of client and industry standards related to design and constructionCreate appropriate documentation for change ordersDemonstrate abilities to negotiate solutions to client concerns or project overagesQualificationsValid CA driver's licenseBachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Construction Management, or relevant field, or equivalent training and experienceAt least 6 years of work in a relevant field and position, managing complex technical and/or civil projectsPMP Certification for Distribution or Transmission specialistsStrong skills in MS OfficePositive attitude, ability to work collaborativelyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera P6Understanding of financial performance and earned value metrics for a projectDesired QualificationsWorking knowledge of client and industry design and construction standards desiredExperience in public utility design and construction, natural gas pipelines, water/sewer infrastructure, or electric distribution overhead and underground infrastructureMetricsEvaluation is based, in part on the timely, accurate completion of workThe pay range for this California position is $145,000- $150,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate.
