Project Manager II – Plant Asset DataCompany: Southern Company ServicesLocation: Atlanta, GATravel: Up to 50% (day and overnight travel required)Position SummaryThe Project Manager II – Plant Asset Data leads the coordination, execution, and implementation of asset data improvement initiatives across Generation facilities. Operating within the Operations Data team, this role manages multiple plant-specific asset and data remediation projects including plant walkdowns, P&ID reviews (including CAD work), asset identification and labeling, and O&M procedure reviews between plant personnel and vendors.This position serves as the central point of contact for cross-functional coordination among engineering, operations, supply chain, asset management, technology teams, and external vendors.

The role requires strong project management capabilities, heavy industrial experience, and preferably utility industry knowledge.Key ResponsibilitiesLead planning, coordination, and execution of asset data remediation projectsDevelop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocationsFacilitate meetings, track action items, and ensure stakeholder alignmentMonitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actionsCoordinate transition from current asset data models to standardized enterprise modelsSupport change management, training, and adoption initiativesProject ObjectivesImprove asset data accuracy, completeness, and integrityEnhance usability and accessibility of asset data across business unitsEstablish foundational data governance and control frameworksDevelop and implement a comprehensive Asset Data Strategy including:GovernanceControlsRemediationProject DeliverablesAssess existing asset data models and related systems across GenerationIdentify and document business requirements for a unified asset data modelDevelop standardized asset data models aligned with industry best practicesGather and document stakeholder input across:EngineeringSupply ChainProjectsAsset ManagementOperations & MaintenanceTechnologyEstablish governance policies, procedures, and defined rolesExecute transition plan and oversee implementationProvide communication, documentation, and training supportRequired QualificationsMinimum 5 years of power plant, power delivery, or heavy industrial experienceMinimum 3 years of project management experienceExperience managing cross-functional technical projectsEducationDegree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field (preferred)PMP Certification (preferred)Preferred ExperienceMechanical and/or Electrical design experienceCAD experience or CAD Developer CertificationUtility industry experience strongly preferred
