Project Manager I, FuelsThe Fuels Project Manager I plans, manages, and drives the end-to-end lifecycle of a small number of initiatives governed by Fuels. These initiatives are high-priority, cross-departmental projects that support the achievement of Murphy USA's strategic goals. The Project Manager ensures his/her assigned initiatives are delivered on time/budget and meet or exceed business expectations by partnering with the project team to solve the business problem(s) and making recommendations to Leadership; providing structure and adhering to quality standards of the Fuels project management principles; and anticipating and resolving risks and challenges.
The Fuels Project Manager role is a highly visible requiring significant teamwork and collaboration. She/he is the "pivot" that manages expectations of partners with several internal stakeholders and vendors: the Executive Sponsor, the Business Sponsor, Project Leads overseeing the direction of the project, contributing work products, and making decisions of their respective functions, and the Fuels Innovation & Optimization (I&O) Leader who sets the overall project management standards and program cadence.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Manage and lead Fuels initiativesDefine status reporting cadencesSet up and maintain shared project/program folders and templatesDevelop, manage, and control project plansControl the project/program scope and budgetMonitor and report project/program statusCoordinate internal and external resources required across projects and manage relationships with and expectations among Project Sponsors, Projects Leads, and Project TeamsAnticipate risks and challenges related to assigned initiatives and keep Project Sponsors, Project Leads, and the I&O Leader informed of these risks and challengesEscalate issues to the I&O Leader and Fuels LeadershipCalculate and tracks project benefits, both financial and strategicParticipate in Fuels team activities including continuous improvement workPerform any other related duties as required or assignedPreferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: PMP CertificationPROSCI Change ManagementSoftware Skills Required:Beginner: MS Planner, SharePoint, MS Teams, MS PowerPoint, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/TypingBasic: 10-Key, AccountingExperience / Education Requirements:Bachelor's degree1 to 2 years related experience
