MUST HAVE 5+ YEARS EXPERIENCE IN CASTER SETTING.The Basics:Bachelor's degree in EngineeringMinimum of 5 years of experience working as an engineer, specialist, or similar position in a casterBasic technical knowledge of CasterStrong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skillsComputer skills to include SAP and Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)The Extras:Advanced technical knowledge of Caster preferredTechnical knowledge of Melt Shop preferredTRAITS TO BE SUCCESSFULHolds self and others accountable to meet commitmentsMakes good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forwardTakes on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasmBuilds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectivesActively learns through experimentation when tackling new problems, using both successes and failures as learning fodderWHAT YOULL BE DOINGMonitor and evaluate caster performance, including production, cost, and quality key performance indicators (KPI's); Identify appropriate countermeasures in case of non-achievement of KPI'sOptimize Caster productivity, capacity, energy, and consumption by monitoring industry best practices for caster processesCollaborate with the Technology team to perform product trials; Provide process expertise to the technology team for improvement project implementationInterface and communicate with maintenance team members and other members of steel making facility, including EAF, LMF, RH, and RefractoryWrite and update work instructions for casters operations; Organize related HIRAC reviewTake ownership to seek and correct issues generating slab non-qualityCoordinate slab scarfing activities with scarfing contractorLead and support continuous improvement activitiesEnsure caster complies with environmental and safety regulationsDemonstrate Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Relationships, and SustainabilityLead/participate in incident root cause analysis and corrective actions for failures, including safety incidents, environmental deviations, quality deviations and production lossesYOUR WORK ENVIRONMENTOffice and Industrial setting in the Steel Making facilityDuring first ~2 years, Construction settingGulf coast region in Calvert, ALDays, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloadsPeople with heart pacemakers or any there electronic medical device are strictly prohibited from entering the furnace area. These devices include implanted pacemakers or implantable cardiac defibrillators where the device may be affected.

Individuals identified to potentially work in EMF affected areas should identify the specific device they have as part of a medical history and manufacturers recommendations should be followed.
